Chapter 2 Arrogant
Chapter 2 Arrogant
Naruto looked at the little girl in front of him.
She wore a simple and neat outfit, the fabric not particularly luxurious, but the cut was very fitted, clearly designed for ease of movement. A small ninja tool pouch was strapped to her waist, something an ordinary child wouldn't carry.
She doesn't look like a rich family's daughter, but she also doesn't look like an ordinary villager's child...
After a brief silence, Naruto finally spoke up.
"Um... may I ask who you are?"
His tone was polite; after all, she was so cute that Naruto instinctively wanted to get closer to her. But if she gave him that look of disgust like the other villagers... Naruto would immediately turn around and leave.
However, before you leave, be sure to give her a good pinch on the cheek so she knows she can't look down on people!
The little black-haired girl stood still, her little hands unconsciously twisting and rubbing the hem of her clothes. After hesitating for a moment, she finally raised her chin slightly, trying her best to put on an arrogant look.
"...Hmph, that move you just made was not bad."
Her voice was deliberately suppressed to be indifferent, but the last syllable still carried a hint of childishness.
"But shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking who someone is?"
After saying that, she added, "Besides, this is where my sister and I usually train. But you... why are you practicing here?"
...Tsundere?
Naruto almost laughed. He wasn't like this when he was hiding behind the tree shouting "Wow, that's amazing!"
The little girl's words, "This is my sister's and my training ground," made Naruto understand why she was there.
This grove of trees on the outskirts of Konoha was indeed not a public training ground; it was just a clearing he had stumbled upon. The few makeshift targets nailed to the tree trunks looked quite old.
Oh no, I've illegally occupied someone else's land...
Although there are designated training grounds in Konoha Village, Naruto prefers to go further away. After all, he really doesn't want to practice shuriken in front of everyone, enduring the villagers' disgusted stares.
The little girl's attitude was subtle; it wasn't one of distance or disgust, but rather a deliberate contempt and pride. Her small chin was held high, and her obsidian-like eyes sparkled, occasionally glancing at the kunai nailed to the bullseye.
This awkward yet proud attitude, coupled with his outstanding appearance and the nearby geographical location...
Uchiha family.
Naruto had a vague idea in his mind.
"Ah? Oh... thank you for the compliment." Naruto gave a friendly smile. "My name is Naruto. Is this your sisters' training ground? I'm sorry for using it without permission."
He deliberately slowed down his speech to observe the other person's reaction.
"If you don't want me to use it, I can leave now."
The little girl's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. She had expected the blond boy to explain throwing techniques, but instead, he steered the conversation towards the right to use the training field.
After a few seconds of silence, she finally couldn't hold back any longer. Her face flushed slightly, and she blurted out stiffly, "If you insist on using it... I don't really have a problem with it!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted them—didn't that make her seem too easy to talk to? So she quickly put on a serious face and added.
"But! How exactly did you train your throwing skills?"
Seemingly realizing that this was too blunt, she frantically waved her small hands, "Don't misunderstand! I was just asking casually! You need to know! The Uchiha clan's throwing techniques are the strongest! Your level... is nothing at all!"
As she finished speaking, her voice grew softer and softer, and the tips of her ears began to turn red.
Seeing the little girl in front of him, who clearly cared terribly but was still pretending to be indifferent, Naruto couldn't help but smile slightly.
As expected of a typical Uchiha tsundere...
He deliberately and slowly pulled a kunai from his ninja tool pouch and twirled it deftly between his fingers.
"I have my own training methods—I developed them myself."
Before he could finish speaking, he flicked his wrist, and the kunai vanished from his fingers as if by magic. The little girl's eyes widened instantly, her dark pupils filled with astonishment. Before she could react, Naruto's hand deftly flipped again.
Swish!
The three kunai had somehow ended up between his fingers, gleaming with a cold metallic luster in the setting sun.
Wow! How did you do that?!
The little girl's lips parted slightly, almost letting out a cry. Her large, obsidian-like eyes were fixed on Naruto's fingers, filled with longing and curiosity. But the next second, as if realizing her lapse in composure, she quickly turned her face away.
Looking at her like this, Naruto roughly knew how to deal with this kind of tsundere.
"Hmm... It was wrong of me to use your and my sister's training ground without permission." He deliberately softened his tone, "But I also know that the Uchiha clan's throwing techniques are absolutely top-notch in Konoha."
Noticing that the little girl's ears had perked up, Naruto continued to coax her.
"How about this, do you want to practice with me? It's always faster to improve by practicing together than by practicing alone."
He brandished the kunai in his hand, a sly smile spreading across his face. "I can teach you how to do that move just now, consider it payment for borrowing your training ground, how about it?"
