Chapter 449: He Still Doesn’t Have a Proper Understanding of Himself
Talking aside, Thea Shaw and Landon Ford still met up.
Lovers can get tired of seeing each other every day, but how long have the two of them been dating? They’re not entirely in the idle phase yet.
Thea is doing alright. She has things to keep her occupied every day and isn’t overly obsessed with the relationship.
Landon is different. He actually wants to see Thea every day, but his strong mental fortitude is able to suppress this urge.
With this occasional meet-up perk, there’s no need not to satisfy each other.
Thea has to be with Aurora Sutton in the evening, and Landon has been busy recently with a series of fluctuations caused by Vanguard Group matters, so he didn’t cook for Thea himself. Instead, they went to a restaurant with a beautiful environment and delicious food.
Landon was simply dressed today, in a white shirt and long pants.
Of course, with his kind of character, any clothes he wears seem to look impressive because of him.
Recently it’s been hot, and the indoor environment has the air conditioning running at full blast.
Landon noticed that as soon as Thea came in, only wearing a simple strappy dress, goosebumps appeared on her arms.
This kind of small detail is usually hard for people to notice, but Landon did.
He frowned slightly, took the jacket he had brought and draped it over Thea’s shoulders: "You knew the air conditioning would be strong, why didn’t you bring a jacket?"
Thea rubbed her nose, which was a bit sensitive from the cold: "Who knew the air conditioning here was like it’s free."
Actually, most indoor air conditioning is set to a temperature suitable for people, but everyone’s ideal temperature is different. Thea can tolerate heat better than most people, and she’s sensitive when the temperature is a bit lower.
Landon appeared to be scolding but was actually doting: "Remember to bring a small jacket with you next time."
Thea waved her hand: "Got it, got it. I’ll definitely bring it next time."
This is a Western restaurant, known for its dishes, and of course, the prices are equally appetizing.
Landon had already ordered from the menu, and as soon as Thea arrived, the dishes started coming. As she ate, Landon talked to her about some work-related issues: "My dad returned to the country today. Ian Quinnell coming back with him must have a certain reason."
"Oh?" Thea took a bite of chilled caviar and looked at him: "Your father can’t hold off any longer? Is he sending someone back to compete with you?"
"He doesn’t dare to make it so obvious." Landon smirked: "But he’s indeed a bit impatient, we had a confrontation in the company today because of this."
Thea was immediately interested: "How did the confrontation arise? Isn’t he afraid that Ian Quinnell’s identity will be formally exposed to you?"
"Our group is planning to launch a new business. Initially, we wanted to transfer someone from the headquarters to be the general manager. This kind of thing needs to be discussed in a meeting. The company’s internal suggestion was to recommend someone else for the position; of course, he didn’t say he’d give the position to Ian because that’s too obvious, but he planned to push Ian to be the deputy manager."
Thea could naturally understand Landon’s meaning: "Your father dares to put forth Ian because he has the ability and a fine resume, but you found it strange, so you reacted directly?"
"That’s pretty much it." Landon grinned mischievously: "I never used to question his personnel appointments before, after all, that’s his area. Until today, I just asked him one question, how come Ian looks so much like him, he just sneered and asked if I think he’s the kind of father who has kids everywhere. Now any young man who comes by I think is his illegitimate son."
"I said yes, he probably got so mad he was about to get sick. I think he still doesn’t have a proper understanding of himself, and I’m very sorry for him, really."
