Chapter 99 The Unlucky Drug Dealer
"What's going on? Did we leak the information?"
The white American man at the head of the group looked at the helicopter in the distance with a mixture of anger and tension; he was a wanted criminal.
A Latin American man weakly offered a reason.
"Perhaps it's a coincidence."
"A coincidence? You're telling me it's a coincidence?"
The white male grabbed his companion by the collar and yelled.
"If anything goes wrong with this mission, none of you will be going back. Even if you survive, you'll be illegal immigrants in America, understand?"
The four Latinos nodded, though they were angry but dared not utter a word of rebuttal.
The middle-aged white male was named Colin Buchanan. He was a former California resident commissioner for the American Drug Enforcement Administration, a high-ranking regional official, but was later wanted by the federal government for drug trafficking.
He now works for a major drug dealer in Mexico because he has a wide network of connections, from former colleagues in the California Drug Enforcement Administration to border control officers.
This time, he was going to personally carry goods across the border. Since the recent uproar in the desert area, and the governor's statement that there would be a crackdown on drug traffickers, the desert area would be more difficult than the western coastline in the short term.
Therefore, this $600 million shipment forced him to take the western route to San Diego.
Everything was arranged perfectly and should have been foolproof. The transaction was with a long-time client, so they didn't even bring all their handguns, only three. They never expected to encounter a helicopter searching the mountains.
"Keep it down, don't attract the attention of the planes."
"Um."
On the other side, Lee Ethan suddenly pounced on a passing stray dog, trying to calm it down despite its struggles.
"Good dog, don't move, don't bark, or I'll give you my fist, as big as a sandbag, understand?"
With a hand covering its mouth, the stray dog could only look helplessly at the man.
Lee Esen took out a piece of dried meat and fed it to the stray dog.
"Eat up, eat up, Nicole, take off your socks and give them to me."
"???"
The other two looked completely bewildered until Ethan Lee urged her again, at which point Nicole Watts reluctantly took off her socks in front of the camera, revealing her snow-white feet, as glistening as lychees.
Lee Ethan also took off his jacket and inner shirt in front of the camera, revealing his perfectly sculpted muscles. He then tied the shirt to the stray dog and hung two wet socks on it as well, in an attempt to mislead the police dog's sense of smell.
Nicole Watts found it hard to look away. When did this guy get such a physique? His worst physique before was just one abs.
Li Yisen then took out some dried meat and stuffed it into the wild dog's mouth, urging it to hurry.
"Good dog, run!"
The wild dogs ran away, and Ethan Lee took the opportunity to pull Nicole Watts away from the helicopter, as they could simply hide in the denser jungle.
The sound of barking came from not far away. Sure enough, the police dogs that had been tracking the stray dog followed it. A group of border patrol officers also ran after it. They chased it for more than 10 minutes until a helicopter that had been called in captured a picture of a running stray dog.
David Chambers stomped his foot angrily on the ground.
"Damn it, are we really going to resort to underhanded tactics when dealing with a mere cop?"
Jordan Wilson, the second-in-command, patted the captain on the shoulder.
"The vast sea of trees is very difficult, and our opponents are not beginners either. We'll still win anyway."
The others nodded; this was an unspoken rule of the show.
Leaving aside their dignity as border patrol officers and elite law enforcement personnel, even from a purely political correctness standpoint, the patrol team must win because they represent the law, while illegal immigrants are breaking the law.
In the woods, Lee Ethan had already led the two into the dense forest, the only lush forest south of Los Angeles that was not a mountain range.
The three of them had already wasted almost 3 hours on their journey, and it was almost time to retreat. Li Yisen suspected that the guys at the retreat point might leave early in order to let the patrol team win, so they couldn't afford to miss the deadline.
Just as Lee Ethan was about to cross the jungle, an unexpected sound made him suddenly stop. The sound was like blood being drained from the throat, and the victim could only breathe air to make the blood flow faster. He said he had heard it more than once or twice.
Lee Esen raised his hand to stop him.
"Something seems to be going on."
"What's going on?"
"In short, I have a bad feeling."
The three of them walked forward quietly, and the next second Nicole Watts' mouth was covered by Ethan Lee.
"Don't make a sound."
Nicole Watts patted the man's hand speechlessly. She didn't even make a sound. Didn't this man know how dirty his hands were? He'd touched her socks and dog hair.
On the flat ground, two men were forced to kneel, one of whom had his throat slit and was lying on the ground, while several men who looked like Latin Americans were preparing to slit the throat of another man.
Lee Ethan looked around carefully. The three men were carrying pistols, but he didn't know if the other two had any; he couldn't tell for sure.
Should we rescue them? Should we take action?
The only threat was the pistol, and the men weren't particularly burly. But what was in that bulging bag?
Goods, drugs?
Worth a try.
Lee Esen looked at the other two.
"You all step back and call for backup, I'm going to rescue people."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lee Ethan took out two daggers. These were tools to protect against wild animals. After all, although there were no bears in southwestern California, there were cougars and coyotes.
Lee Ethan placed two stones under his body, then threw out the last thunderbolt.
"Beep...."
3
The piercing sound attracted the attention of the three men. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Li Yisen threw the two daggers one after the other, about 20 meters away. Even with his physique and skills, he could not guarantee that he would hit the target every time.
One knife successfully plunged into a person's throat, while the other struck the target's arm without causing injury.
Lee Ethan didn't stop there; he continued to throw stones at the two men, using 43 points of force to knock one unconscious and the other scream in pain.
"ah."
"There's someone there."
A pistol was aimed at Lee Ethan and fired, forcing him to cover his temple and run. His temple was the only fatal weakness in his body, and he doubted whether the bullet could penetrate his level 5 skull head-on.
"Bang bang bang bang bang"
Bullets kept hitting the weeds and trees, and of course, Lee Ethan was also inevitably shot once, right in the waist.
Finally, when the pistol ran out of bullets, Li Yisen did not hesitate to drive off in his high-powered car with excitement. Having undergone multiple physical enhancements and developments, he was now 1.91 meters tall and charged at his opponent like a ferocious beast.
Of the three drug dealers who were able to stand up, one was trying to reload, one took out a dagger, and one got into the car to escape.
Like a charging bull, Lee Ethan slammed into the reloading drug dealer, sending him flying several meters away. He then raised his arm to catch the dagger head-on, the sharp blade cutting a 1.5-centimeter-deep wound into his palm.
This scene startled the drug dealer with the knife. What was going on? Something felt wrong. My alloy steel dagger shouldn't be this shallow.
Without giving the other man time, Li Yisen kicked him in the groin.
Just imagine how powerful a kick with 43 points of strength is; it would directly cause a man to clutch his groin and faint from the pain. He would probably be castrated even if he didn't die.
"Waaah"
The engine sound came, and the wheels of the off-road vehicle began to turn. Li Yisen activated another active skill, unleashing 70% of his maximum power.
