Chapter 140: Most wanted man on earth
Chapter 140: Most wanted man on earth
A tsunami had hit the world; Marian had shown the fight of Katarina and Ray to the whole world. Even the worst worlds didn’t have such catastrophic casualties.
The main thing that disturbed everyone was the fact that the one who did that was a vice general from the military; in the silence of the next few days, all of social media’s posts were about the military.
The poster of Ray as the most dangerous criminal on earth fueled more anger in normal people.
Marian ran through the most famous posts she had seen;
The blood angel didn’t kill a whole city to be the most dangerous one!
The military should be responsible for the events, not some criminal!
So many things had stayed hidden during the five days: one general had died, Ray’s relation with immortals, and at last the fact that Marian had stalled General Armstrong as long as she wanted.
Their fight was just a test of power on both sides; none of them did anything to provoke the other side.
Looking at the sleeping Ray, Marian threw her phone on the table. His mind had been under intense pressure without any rest for some time, so he had fallen asleep, and that was the fifth day.
With Jade on a scouting mission, she felt bored. Kings of the underworld all wanted to work with them; Jade had gone with the dark lady to speak about some terms.
"Don’t think too hard; your face will get ugly."
Glancing at Ray, she was welcomed by two eyes that had nothing in common. "How are you?"
"Better." Checking his hands, he continued: "The news?"
Marian started to explain everything that had happened after his fight. The military had stayed silent all the time, with them having a conference in a few hours.
"How does it feel to be ranked number one on the list of criminals?"
Digesting what had happened, Ray answered with a weak voice, "Nothing."
Ray stared at the ceiling; the loss of someone that once he counted as an ally troubled him. Even with their differences, he shared many memories with her, yet in the end, no regrets remained in his heart.

In another part of the earth, named the headquarters of the military, all the generals stood in line behind General Armstrong.
Things had been a mess between them; after lots of discussion, they had agreed on something.
"Start."
"I apologize to all the people we had promised a safe earth." He yelled, "But we will punish those who caused the tragic events of the past few days."
First by the goddess squad and their proxy on earth, a man with the title "blood angel." From now on no immortal is welcomed on earth by the military, and their proxy will be our first priority all over this planet."
"Second, my own vice general turned into the most vicious person in our history; I take full responsibility for her actions. Every minute we will try our best for such an event not to repeat itself. And for herself, she will be hanged tomorrow morning."
After him, generals went in front of the table, apologizing to the people of their planet.
Yet in the world it caused more worry for normal people.
The military declared war on all immortals; guess who will be caught in the crossfire!
What responsibility? No one survived in there for you to take responsibility.
In minutes their strategy backfired against them, yet no one could do anything. They held control of almost everything on earth; governments and others were just a tool for them.

"What do you think?"
Ray checked the video once more. "Kind of a smart move. Now they have the excuse that Goddess Squad backs me up and that’s how I killed one of their generals, yet the people will be scared of a full-out war breaking out."
Marian put her head on his shoulder. "They couldn’t do anything else either. I think they will find a way to work with you still; now more than ever they need resource management."
"The question is, how are immortals going to respond?"
Marian closed her eyes, enjoying the small moment together. "Nothing, you are doing their job." Her fingers trailed on Ray’s muscles. "In the month that you were gone, Ma and Jade worked on their plan with building super-intelligent machines. King of Silence is the main dot that connects most of the pieces together!"
"How much time until they succeed?"
"Roughly six months; apparently they had tested it on Alexanderia and another person, but both had failed. If you focused on Alexanderia today, she had lost one of her eyes. " Marian’s source was mostly Jade’s connections, but still many in the military were against the idea of machines taking over fusing with their bodies.
Ray started to play with her soft hair. "More than enough. How much do you need to max your abilities?" In the fight with Katarina he had burnt half of his vault of crystals; the rest was enough to take him to one third of level 9. The main hole was his level 9; only leveling up his talents alone needed 100000 blood crystals.
"Less than 30000, Jade around 80000." In her time on Mars, Marian had her own share of crystals to spare on herself.
"Good, I have a plan for our shortage of resources. But first I must see Scarlet; when Jade returns too, we should come up with a supply chain." Even though the military was the biggest force on earth, the fear of immortals was enough for some of the great businesses to be cautious. With them announcing him as the proxy, the opportunities would rise instantly.
"It was lonely without you..." Their eyes locked with Marian’s hand moving down on his body. A heat between her legs ignored her mind that told her to let Ray rest.
She raised her head for their lips to touch one another in a gentle kiss. "Let me take care of you..."
Ray stopped her hand from going any further. "Just... stay by my side."
