The importance of suicide prevention shouldn’t remain only a letter. McHenry Crisis Center is actively working on helping people to regain their inner peace, to release from the stressful events and thoughts, and to find their life purpose again. That’s the only way to reduce the tragical statistics that’s affecting Illinois.
We believe that suicide shouldn’t remain tabu. The stigma and negative publicity built around this topic have only put the additional burden to people who are struggling with health or mental problems. Suicide is something that affects everyone on this planet. It doesn’t discriminate on race, gender, ages, social status or education level. Anyone can lose their positivity and motivation, but we shouldn’t let them fall. Instead, we need to be by their sides – to support them, to help them, to talk to them.
We’re dedicated to raising awareness of suicide in our society. On this website, you’ll be able to read about suicide prevention and treatments, about common risk factors and groups, as well as about suicide attempts that ended up with living. We want to give a valuable content that will help not only people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts, but their family, friends, and co-workers, as well.
